The secret lives of Bryde's whales

As large apex- and meso-predators, whales and dolphins provide important ecosystem services such as nutrient cycling, and maintain a key position in marine food webs. However, to this day information on the ecology of many species is still lacking. Bryde’s whales (Balaenoptera edeni) are a species of baleen whale home to tropical and temperate waters worldwide, and the least known of the large whales. This project aims to enhance our understanding of the behavioural ecology of this large ocean predator.
