Rose McIntosh

Rose is currently completing a Bachelor of Marine Science at UOW. Her research interests centre on marinemegafauna ecology and conservation, particularly the application of eDNA and stable isotope analysis toinvestigate ecosystem dynamics.
She has undertaken studies in wildlife conservation through Taronga Conservation Society Australia and is anactive member of the Royal Zoological Society of New South Wales, Divers for Climate, and the Organisation forthe Rescue and Research of Cetaceans in Australia (ORRCA), where she is a licensed marine mammalresponder involved in stranding response, welfare, and conservation activities.
She is particularly interested in maximizing the scientific value of marine mammal stranding events throughher volunteer work with the Taronga Wildlife Registry, where she is trained to assist with marine mammalnecropsies.
Rose works at the Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS), where she continues to gain experiencesupporting marine research, fieldwork and science communication.
As a member of the MAVE Lab since 2026, Rose supports research exploring cetacean ecology throughstable isotope data as part of the IsoCet Project.
