Marine conservation works best when we work together. The MAVE Lab collaborates with researchers, government agencies, Indigenous organisations, non-government organisations, industry and community groups to address questions that cannot be tackled by research alone.
We are always interested in building meaningful partnerships that combine expertise, knowledge, data and resources to improve our understanding and conservation of marine vertebrates and their ecosystems.
Research collaborations

We are interested in opportunities to develop joint research projects, share complementary expertise and data, co-supervise students, develop new methods and technologies, and pursue collaborative funding opportunities.

Conservation & management partnerships
We work with government agencies, Indigenous organisations, conservation organisations and other partners to ensure our research addresses real-world conservation and management needs.
Partnerships may involve co-designing research questions, accessing or building long-term datasets, monitoring marine populations, evaluating emerging threats, developing conservation tools, or translating scientific evidence into management and policy.
Industry & community partnerships
Some of our most valuable research opportunities arise through partnerships with organisations and communities that spend time on the ocean and hold knowledge, observations or data that researchers could never collect alone.
We are interested in working with responsible industry and community partners on projects that align with our research and conservation goals. Partnerships can range from sharing data and supporting fieldwork to developing long-term monitoring programs, research projects and student opportunities.
